Daze Go By

Daze go by

The break of dawn has started this morning
It is time for yet another beautiful day
I can not tell if it will be just as good
Or even better than it was yesterday

I see the suns rays slowly rising up
With light shinging through the fields
The sky is lighting up even brighter
As my trees are performing as shields

As I look out of my bedroom window
I see a beautiful nightingale on a tree
It was chirping and flapping its wings
Just singing oh so happily

I smiled and gave a silent sigh
As I realized it was going to be a great day
A day of peace, love and happiness
And my toughest problems will float away

Shake the Sorrow

Shake the sorrow

I have been learning about a prophet
Who has showed me a new way
You say your soul seems empty
And your beliefs left in dismay

We’ve forseen the shadows dance
In the twilight of the new year
The rain deceives the pain
When vows for eternity are near

If you have fought and just couldn’t win
And find your soul is fading to black
Think of things you could have been
Taste the glory and take it back

Broken homes may not cause broken bones
But it does darken ones soul
When you’re smoked out of your childhood
You tend to shovel your own coal

Broken free
From below the knee
I left the ball behind
But took the chain with me
It’s time to shake the sorrow
Journey on for tomorrow…

Astound

Astound

I get humbled by the strength in your eyes
I feel the power from somewhere within the skies
I have found a new day, a new way, a new will
They will bring the clouds to a silent still

For years we have wanted to do it our way
And tomorrows eve brings us a new day
The road we have chosen we know is long
For which is strong, this is our song

Smothering sorrow, be gone from us tomorrow
Never again to beg, steal or borrow
Patience is the road we should walk
Only for words of beauty we should stalk

Bewildered again by the misty haze
The toll gets higher but it is just a phase
Between your heart and me can you see
The journey I’m on is to set you free

Every door that I have walked through
I see the changes that rearranges and knew what to do
Blistering sun, just for fun we put a man on the moon
Do we go too far in search of a star, we will know very soon…

Ride The Tide

Ride The Tide
(Lyric/Song Form)

(verse)
Be careful what you wish for
Are they telling you the truth
I thought it was an eye for an eye
And a tooth for a tooth

Down here in Mississippi
I’m a long way from home
Lead me to where I’m going
Or follow me to where I roam

*chorus*
I’m going up
Down
Side to side
Are you going with
Will you ride
To a place I know
Where we can hide
Just ride the tide

(verse)
Remember what I’m saying
I may never be back again
I’ve been down to those crossroads
And I damn sure didn’t win

So now I’m running like a hound dog
Trying to catch that ole hare
The devil said come on back boy
I said Sir I’ll take that dare

*chorus*
I’m going up
Down
Side to side
Are you going with
Will you ride
To a place I know
Where we can hide
Just ride the tide

(bridge)
Was my promise just a promise
Or was my promise really a swear
I feel that old spirit coming on
And I thought I’d like to share

It delved deep into my somber soul
And carried me all the way thru
It showed me things I never thought
And I thought of things I never knew

*chorus*
I’m going up
Down
Side to side
Are you going with
Will you ride
To a place I know
Where we can hide
Just ride the tide

Fear The Storm

Fear the Storm

The sky is getting dark, the clouds are coming
Seems it’s the end, the black rain is pouring
The lightning strikes, the thunders rolling
There’s nowhere to hide, you better hold on

May the fear of the storm, be in our minds
Wipe the tears from your face, why even cry
Just ride the lightning and feel the thunder
The eye of the metal storm is what you are under

There comes a time in everyones life
When the storm comes down, no one knows why
The havoc it causes it leaves too much pain
Nothing but dreams lost, people crying in vain

The questions fly out, should destruction come
The answers unknown, what’s done is done
People running around, scared and hopeless
Acid from the skies leaves them one last wish

Black clouds coming closer to the ground
You try to run but there is death all around
Bodies lying at your feet, blood in the gutters
Sanity wonders off as your heart flutters

Lightning strikes near the end of the storm
Streets and buildings are ripped and torn
The storm leaves, moves to another land
Don’t ever say it wont come back, because it can…

Just Another Day

Just another day

There are so many times I had believed what she said
She said she loved me and it all went to my head
So now I sit and watch the days pass me by
Without her near me without her by my side

How many times did I say I was here for her
I gave my heart, my blood and I was for sure
But she don’t care with her cold dead stare
I was nothing to her now it’s her I can’t bear

No matter the words they can’t explain my heart
I still love and need her when we are apart
She said she loved me but she was so full of lies
The happiness is over and I’m wiping the tears from my eyes

It’s just another day without her
Another night of loneliness
Another day of emptiness
Another broken heart
Another love just torn apart
It’s just another day without her…

Legerdemain

Legerdemain

Delve deep into your somber soul
What keeps you young, will also make you old
Don’t be denied, the devil may care
Tribulation arrives when all is fair

Before evening tide, after the evening feast
Recollection will apprise the beast
From your spring of charm, conjure a friend
Ask if this is the start or is this the end

Send your lucid eyes to the periphery of life
Sustain yourself sturdily, along shall come strife
Never languish before your weakened peers
Loath the master that brings forth those fears

The simplicity of a vulgar display
Feel antipathy when you don’t get your way
For simple minds or petty impressions
Don’t enter into the day of misconceptions

Coming forth into a new age of prodigy
Say farewell to your worthless commodities
Bewildered by the fog and the misty haze
You have no time for one of those days

Form your preserverence into a sanctioned emotion
Hear with intention and steadfast your devotion
Validate your senseless trepidations
Let your controlling influence fight the condemnations…

(She's Gone) Too Soon

(She’s Gone) Too Soon

Too soon my love was put to the test
And too soon did I fail
She left when I needed her the most
Too soon did I have to set sail

Too soon my words broke her heart
And too soon did she cry
She didn't explain the things I did wrong
Too soon she left without saying goodbye

Too soon did I see another tragic day
And too soon she was lost
She never let me explain myself
Too soon I couldn't afford the cost

Too soon my heart was shattered and blue
And too soon love came to an end
She took my words and misunderstood
Too soon are the messeges I'll never send

Garden of Love

Garden of love

When walking through a garden
There can be so much to see
So many different colors
Like red, yellow and green

While watching the flowers bloom
And the sun shining bright
Sometimes it makes me wonder
Into the cool moonlit night

It can be a time to be alone
Or be with someone you love
Appreciate more things in life
And thank the Spirit above

Our gardens stand for life
In one there is so much
The blossoms are so beautiful
As beautiful as such

Sometimes you’ll see one dead flower
That will catch your eye
It is there for a reason the Creator says
Saying every thing that lives must die…

It's all over now

It’s all over now

I have fought the losing battle of love
I was left standing all alone
Feeling like a forgotten stranger
In a strange kind of home

The flame once burned bright
But the wind comes and it goes
Why this feeling has come over me
Still fighting and nobody knows

I was a victim of selfish love
A young man with unlived years
We’ve drifted our separate ways
It has led to our many tears

I’ve been holding on for nothing
The candle light is no longer burning
Shall we go on our separate ways
As this cruel world keeps on turning

I will forever cherish our good times
Can never let go of the memories
Like yesterday I’ll live for tomorrow
And pick up where you had buried me

We were once one body and one soul
We are no longer one of a kind
Lets pick up the pieces and move on
There is another love we shall find

It’s all over now
Like the day our love died
It’s all over now
I’ve lost to foolish pride…

Soiled Beach

Soiled Beach

When the sun came up this morning
And I raised my weary head
I didn’t see her lying next to me
And I realized our love was dead

The summer breeze drifted away
The seagulls said goodbye
It was an empty beach that day
Our love was never justified

When the moon came up this evening
I was there all by myself
She was probably already at home
Putting another mans picture on her shelf

The winter called my name silently
I stood alone watching the tide
The wind was cold, just like her heart
For I have lost my bride

We’ve had no rain
In several weeks
Anyone could have seen the tears
Running down my cheeks

And I left a puddle
On the soiled beach…

One Way Ticket

One Way Ticket
(Lyric in Poetry Form)

When times started getting bad
I needed a place to have fun
It was another rainy day
When the clouds covered the sun

When night time fell that evening
It was time to catch the train
I had to get there before the sunshine
So I would be in her arms again

When I stumbled off the train
The Amtrak of loneliness and despair
I took a stroll down a path
Had a challenge and took a dare

She told me I was hers forever
I thought she’d never let me go
I had only bought a one way ticket
At that time I really didn’t know

The pounding of her heart so close
Ended my search for happiness
The divine figure of her dreams
Had begun over lapping us

Her desirable ever lasting touch
Will be always forever mine
She opened her arms and her heart
And we knew everything would be just fine…
