Nickles & Dimes

Nickles & Dimes
(Poetry Form)
In my times of trouble
She reached out for my hand
She showed me how to comfort her
As we made a simple plan

We spent some time alone
Talking in our dreams
Connecting with a peace of mind
In this crazy world so it seems

She lifted up my spirits
As we watched the players play
I think she knows how now
She can really make my day

Taking time to be grateful
And thanking her for her touch
I’ve always loved this woman
But I never knew how much

Side by side along I’ll ride
This dark cloud of mystery
Hovering above them all
We can be who we wanna be

I want to take her with me
I want love, listen and learn
I want to give back all the joy
I want to take my turn

I need to explain myself better
I need to say sorry for the deceit
I need to make her feel safe again
I need to get back on my feet

I can’t explain just how much
But I know when it’s right
The passion for one woman
Restored my vision and gave me sight

I’ve been too hard, mean and scary
Surviving on the Streets
Times have changed my love
It’s time for us to meet

I’m loyal and sincere
I’m growing each passing day
I’m striving to be the best
I’m going to make my way

Believe in my wisdom
Believe in my strength
Believe she could be in my arms
Believe I’d go to any length

I would take her away
From any pain and doubt
To our own little heaven
Where no fear would amount

To anything past, present and future
A Peaceful beginning to a never end
As an eternal bond through ever more
She’ll know this message I send

If I can dream a dream
I’ll never be alone
If only I could be this strong
I’d reap the seeds I’ve sown

Forgive me for my hate
Love is on the way
Wait for my masterings
Another song, another day

To be rich with courage
To be wise with youth
To be learning to love again
To be cherished and soothed

Please come back to me
Lets dream another dream
Be happy with who we are
And let our love light gleam

Don’t count me out
Don’t waste God’s love
Don’t worry another day
I’ll wait here up above

Be happy, be proud
Be thankful, be loud
Be strong, be wise
I’m not the other guys

Have faith, have courage
Show pride, don’t hide
Take a leap into the unknown
And harvest now that we’ve grown
